Data is only useful if you are able to capture the right assets and make it actionable. So often my team hears our clients tell us that they have one of two problems: they have way too much data from several different systems and making sense of any of it is time consuming and fruitless as no action comes from the analysis, or they have such little data that they have no clue where their problems are coming from or what they should be tracking in the first place. In both scenarios, our clients are flying blind. How can they achieve their strategic goals if they don’t have the right information?
We help our clients get the information they need by analyzing our clients’ data (regardless of the multiple sources it comes from), processes, and workflows, and providing clear suggested plans of action, best practice comparisons, and training opportunities. Our findings range from small potatoes to big game changers. For example, when conducting a Revenue Cycle Optimization assessment for a Michigan facility, my team discovered that our client was unaware of the technical capabilities of their EHR system and had not been tracking data points like Date Billed for years. By simply engaging that field, our client will be able to track useful information like billing lag, billing department productivity, and average processing time by payer. In another example, in 2017 my team was able to help a southern health system increase their Point of Service collections by almost four times its 2016 total by providing customized training and program implementation, and post-implementation process analysis.
Utilizing HBI’s custom reports and interactive dashboards, our clients are able to gain insight into their data, apply their training and process enhancement budgets effectively, and make considerable positive impact on their organization’s bottom line.
